Plumber Position Overview
Job Description
The Plumber position handles the assembly, installation, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems as per the specifications and plumbing codes. This role requires interpreting blueprints, drawings, and other specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates must have experience in the plumbing industry and familiarity with plumbing tools and equipment. A Plumbing Certification or completion of a plumbing apprenticeship is preferred. We expect candidates to have a valid state plumbing license.
Good troubleshooting skills and an understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments are crucial. Physical fitness is also necessary as the job often involves lifting heavy equipment, working in tight spaces, and possibly standing or lying in uncomfortable positions for extended periods.
Job Responsibilities
- Reading blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing systems, waste disposal systems, and water supply networks.
- Troubleshooting and fixing issues, replacing or installing parts, and testing for leaks and other problems.
- Implementing and maintaining plumbing systems by regulatory standards.
- Communicating with clients to understand their plumbing issues and providing appropriate solutions.
